Ok, I finally got my FD back from the paint and body shop and it looks good. Well it was dark when i saw it but i can already see the bling bling paint job, he he.







anyway, my problem is that my engine is having problems now. It took the guy almost 3 months to finish my car (was working on it on his spare time and i was in no rush) and he had a hard time getting the car to start yesterday. He finally got it started and said it was because my air/fuel is not right.







I drove it home and it drives fine when I am driving normal....but when i step on the gas the car acts like its choking (best way i can describe it) its like the car is gasping for something (fuel?) it stalls then goes then stalls then goes. it does fine when i slowly accelerate and I mean slowly. The guy said the computer is trying to push more fuel in the winter time but i never had this problem with any other car i owned. Anybody know what this could be?







i seriously doubt this guy is trying to pull a fast one on me because he is not a mechanic so he has nothing to benefit from it and he is not recommending anybody. He said his buddy at Mazda also said it was my fuel. But the car was fine 3 months ago. Could this problem start if the car hasnt been turned on in 3 months and the weather is pretty cold at night (and fairly cold in the day)?

Think about it once the car gets to temperature even with ambient temps low it wouldnt make that much of a difference. Do A FAQ search on this forum or rx7club.com and there should be lots of info there for you. If you have some more detailed explainations PM me and i'll try and help out.

yeah, thats what me and my friend were saying but there were like 3 Japanese guys (one works at Mazda, one tunes cars, and the other guy was the body guy/works on cars too) saying the same things. They said that I have an e-manage (very slightly tuned) and that is causing a problem too because i have regular spark plugs. Oh well, ill keep doing a search and see what i find. The car is low on gas so Ill fill up and all that good stuff to see what happens. Thanks man.

Maybe your turbos?

get some octane boost put in your tank with some fuel stabilizer...if your car sat for 3 months it is very possible that your gas went stale just sitting there
