while searching the internet i have found a few places that say flywheels fit from an 87 to 95, others that say 89-95, and a few more that only list them as 93-95... there is a guy in orlando selling a tII flywheel from his 87(if he still has it) and i would buy it if i know it will fit... can anyone help me out? thanks

I have a stock 93 flywheel you can have if you want. Just pay shipping...

thanks, but i'm actually wondering because this guy has a racing beat light wieght flywheel... maybe i'll just email racing beat...

The '89+ t2 flywheel is the same as fd; the '87 & '88 t2 flywheels & counterweights are different-heavier to balance out the heavier rotors in those years.

ah... damn.... thanks guys...

Does the flywheel you are looking at have an automatic counterbalance bolted to it? If it does you can get an 89+ T2 or FD automatic counter balance to replace it. This is very common with aftermarket flywheels.

ya but 89 to 91 TII flywheels is 3 lbs heavier then FD.

Mazdatrix.com list the '89-95 flywheels under the same part number. If they were differing weights, I imagine they would have separate part #'s.

well first off the guy i am talking to has an 87 T2 with a racing beat flywheel... so its not the stock flywheel.... he said he talked to his mechanic guy and he said i could use the flywheel if i use my counter weight... (does this sound right???.... i have no idea). also, a local race shop here in orlando has a 12lb i beleive AASCO flywheel, but it doesn't come with a counter wieght... when i asked if it did, the guy called AASCO and they said to just use the stock one... but i dunno.... still kind of weary, and am thinking i should just go ahead and buy one for the FD that comes with the counter weight and installation hardware....

so what would you do?

thanks guys
