FINALLY got my aluminum radiator from that other communist forum. I waited 8 ******* MONTHS to get the radiator and an AST for my car...but finally got it in yesterday and had some time afterwork today to get it in.

First impressions of the radiator...The fucker's about twice the size of the stocker...and WAY prettier. If I had A/C and P/S, I think I would have choked myself for not getting the fluidyne, but since I DON'T...putting it in was cake. It took longer to burp the system than install the radiator. It actually took longer to install the AST! I had to fabricate some radiator mounts out of bits and pieces of metal laying around, but they look REAL good...almost professional in quality.

Air temps are about the same except I noticed they get to the same spot as before then the temps go DOWN faster than they normally do...

I give this product an A+ :bigok:

nice! Don't you just love the other forum's customer service, or lack of I should say !

jspecracer7 08-07-2002 09:36 AM

yeah, tell me about it...I'll NEVER buy from them again...I can get everything else I need cheap EXCEPT the damn radiator. They wanted $1000 for a koyo...I told them to insert their hand in my pants, pull out my scrotum and lick the left side of it because there's no way I'm paying $1000 for a RADIATOR :o

i bet you can get cheap intercoolers though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Congratulations. I have p/s and a/c, and the Koyo install was a snap for me too, just a tad under 2 hours luxurious working , smoking and chit chatting, done!

Why didn't you just have Canman69 bring one back for you from one of his US trips?

jspecracer7 08-19-2002 09:47 PM

Because I already PAID for it! Besides, Canman is in mainland, and I'm in Okinawa...two different places all together...

One quick question. I know it cools very efficiently while moving but does yours get hotter while standing/idling?

Thats the only gripe i have with the all aluminum rad. For my purposes though, works like a charm!!!

Fd3BOOST 08-30-2002 11:50 PM

I will be wanting to put one in mine when i get of my arse and do the motor job already.

Fe3Boost 09-03-2002 09:27 AM

Man I want a rad but I am not waiting for ever to get one. Maybe I will make one:)

All you SMIC guys: The Koyo is HUGE. If your IC is a tight fit, this radiator will make it that much tighter... My IC literally sits on the back of the fans... I need to make a bracket to hold the damn thing off them so it doesn't rub a hole.... Great radiator though! Just makes the fans sit about 3/4" - 1" higher... Hope this can be of use!

Fe3Boost 09-04-2002 09:01 AM

J what was the temp lose that you saw on a hot day like 110 degree day?

I noticed that the temps stayed the same for over all driving. BUT with hard railing(like circuit car racing)...the temps didn't go up either.

My Water Temps stay around 86 C to 92 C. I have my PFC tuned to turn the fans on at 85 and 91 C....

Before, when we used to do circuit, they would climb to 100+...now, then MIGHT get to 95...MIGHT...
