Hi guys,

About 1 month ago I have smelled fuel in oil, and assuming it was due to some clogged/dirty injector, I used a good fuel injector cleaner additive. Incredibly enough, after running for a long trip of 100 miles, followed by an oil change, the car starts up much better and the gas smell disappeared from the oil and never returned.

Now to the problem. Following the above, I topped up the fuel tank with new fuel, and from that week I am seeing white smoke everytime I start up from cold (actually it starts smoking about 20 seconds after startup and stops within 1minute or two). Ambient temperature is 18 degrees celcius. It is white water vapour with no antifreeze smell. Coolant level is not changing. So, where is all this water vapour coming from? Can it be from the fuel?

Thanks.

are you losing any fluids?

No fluids are lost. Coolant stays to the top of the filler neck, no bubbling, and coolant in reservoir stays on the same mark (at least within the past week). Do you think it is a very minor o-ring leak?

The only real way to confirm that it is or is not a coolant O ring would be to pressure test the coolant system. I would do that and go from there.

Couldnt it just simply be condensation? Its not uncommon for there to be condensation especially in the wet spring months.

Correct me if I'm wrong?

sounds like condesation to me.... if you wanna be sure, find a shop that has a HC sniffer and check your radiator for hydro carbons. How many miles are on the engine?

well, if your resevoir is full of water, you wont notice the water level lowering from the filler neck until the resevoir/overflow tank is empty
