Hi all...well i just got my 95 fd and im new to rotarys. The previous owner said that the enigne was recently built and has about 400k's on it. Here is my concern..the car runs perfectly but when ever i accelarate there is tons of white smoke (a think cloud) driving normally there is no smoke..the car starts very well on mornings no smoke.....I dont drive the car past 4500 rpms cause the guy who i bought it from said that the engine need to break in properly....can anyone help me with some info in this..thanks

Could be assembly goop smoke if it was rebuilt recently, ( disreguarding your 400k's comment, wtf is 400k? 400,000 kms ago? LOL?) anyways, the first step to being a rotary owner is getting to know the smoke that comes out your exhaust, so go outside let the car warm up and bend down and start to huff your exhaust, if it smells sweet, then you have issues. If its blackish and smells of fuel, your ok, just rich, most cars run really rich into boost, and will toss out a cloud either while WOT or after you shift......

someone correct me if im wrong.

That would be 400km ago, sorry about that...The fumes from the exaust smells of fuel...the smoke comes after i back off the pedal after i was WOT..

You probably have very little if no boost while on break in. So it probably running very rich. IF you are loosing coolant and overheating then you will have a problem.

keep an eye on your oil and coolant levels
