I have MSD 6 . Blah,

I see the MSD 8 and the pro MSD 10.

Many guys are using Jacobs but the afore mentioned are for full blown nitro stuff

and produce a helluva lot millajoul.

Tech at MSD said

"Sir,

No the 10 plus is not recommended for any street driving. Give me some information about the vehicle motor etc. and I will recommend a street worth ignition that will fire the boost you are talking about.

Thanks,

What say you guys?

Are you getting ignition break-up with the 6a? I ran a Jacob's on my leadings for the last 4yrs until it stopped working. Bad ass ignition. Had to change my leading plugs almost twice as often as the trailing because the spark was so intense. Never had any kind of ignition break-up at all, ever. I am really curious about what kind of problems you are having with the 6a.

Yes. I am using the 9's all the way around. My plugs take some time to warm up each day and they cant take boost untill the engine is good and warm. I do get brake up above 5800. I am running 14.5 on 94 octane.I used a timimg light to see

if I was getting trailing spark and I was ok there.

I only gave the MSD 6 on leading.

I see Ari Y. has three jacob boxes (two for leading and one for both trailing)

on his drag car.

What type of coils are you using IGY? I have heard several times that the stock coils tend to go out with after market igniters.

So did the Jacob burn your plugs up?Ionized them to death or what?

If wired correctly and everything is working properly(coils, MSD, igniter...etc) You shouldn't be getting break up, especially at 14.5 psi

I was using the Jacob's on a WACO's coil for a motorcycle. My buddy fried 2 FC leading coils with the Jacob's before buying an aftermarket coil. The jacobs's actually just ate the electrode away on plugs twice as fast as stock. I used a set of iridium plugs once and they were melted in a week. I run stock 9's all the way around.

you could add an individual ignitor, jumper the input from the ignitor for the leading, use that to trigger the new ignitor, and run two individual coils for your leading. And or, run two msd dig 6 plus's w/ two coils for the leading.

I really dont care too much for the stock ignition setup
