i looked at a 7 today and the owner keeps it at about 4k cruising, and is that bad or are rotaries just diff?

I used to cruise around there.. but now that the clutch is slipping I cruise at a bit higher RPM..

FikseRxSeven 09-09-2003 12:57 AM

i cruise around 3000 or less, if im not drivin the car hard

jspecracer7 09-09-2003 12:59 AM

between 4 and 5k. I shift at 9.5k.

Remember...rotary makes less torque than piston engine's so we have to rev higher.

imo you dont need too much torque when you're cruising....... if you happen to need power, just downshift https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

4 or close to it. Less time to just push the gas a little and feel the turbo spool hehe I always got to be in the power curve, down shifting is cool, but just not my style I guess.

maybe YOU don't need the power, but I have a BIG SINGLE(HKS T-45S)...I can cruise at 4k because my turbo doesn't spool till 5k :P

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...withstupid.gif Your O2 sensor stops working around 3200 RPM, at least in the stock FD ECU and the Power FC.

My car is so loud at 3000 RPM and up I try not to run there if I'm just cruising along unless I know there are no cops around. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.png

4000 RPM is OK for me in town, but it probably annoys everyone within 2 blocks https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
