in drag racing..

lets say its a FD 100-200 pounds less than stock, but if she is producing between 330-340hp at the wheels.. and if the driver is good and traction isnt a big issue.. what kind of 1/4mi times could one expect.. im sure low 12's easy but do you think a mid-high 11 is in that zone??

sorry im just at work its raining out everyones leaving early but me and im bored and im just wondering..

There are plenty of calculator sites made just for this purpose. Here's one: http://robrobinette.com/et.htm

There are a lot of variables when you're drag racing--the track, weather, tires, driver, etc.

Use the calculator to get your number, then go to the track and see how close you can get to it.

Don't worry about it. I don't know too many people around here who offend easily. The ones that do, don't make a habit of coming around. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

lol yea i was just joking with my reply https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif i dont like to predict 1/4 times cause as someone said before there are sooo many variables.

good driver's can make amazing pulls in regular looking cars.

I'd say low-12s. I think an 11.9 would be tough, but possible under ideal conditions and/or if you were using drag radials or slicks. To get into the 11s, I think you'll need much more power than 340 rwhp, or an incredible launch that only drag radials can provide. Even though my car is set up for road racing, I've been to the strip a few times just for fun. I put down maybe 320-330 rwhp with full interior touring package car that fully wet was just under 3100 lbs with me in it. My best time was 12.6 with a sub-2.0 60-foot time. I don't think I could improve that much without a transmission-abusing launch or with more power. My car has over 400rwhp now with a single turbo and even though I haven't been back to the strip, I'm still not sure an 11.9 is possible without drag radials.
