And a small pump from Canadian Tire. Somebody like PepBoys would have them in the States, I guess?

you can use a rptary(hehe cool huh) transfer pump and snake the hose through the shifter opening to the fill plug. hey if it worked with 85-140 in 30 degree weather.....it should work for you. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif all though it might not take you 2 and 1/2 hours. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif oh and dont bother using an electric oil change pump...they burn up real quick!!! or if you do try that get it good and warm first. either way good luck and let us know how it works.

They sell little hand pumps at most auto parts stores. Buy one of those. I used one and it was great.

I used my lawn sprayer/week sprayer thingy from HD racing. You know how it has that 2 foot or so wand with a trigger? Well I just found some hose that fit real tight over the end of that, ran it to the trans, pumped it up real good and squeezed teh trigger. Took a few minutes but worked great and didnt make a mess at all.

Anyway, just though I'd share the idea incase you have one laying around. Oh yea, if you do already have one and its been used for weed killer, then obviously you need to clean it out real good

Thanks for the input... how much do i need to add in the shifter area?

r_xplicit 04-30-2003 08:45 PM

well, this is funny, because i changed my tranny fluid and shifter fluid today, because of the noise that i have been noticing from the trans itself.......AND, let me just add that it is not easy with only a small floor jack and no arm room. i had a helluva time filling my pump up, putting the pressure top and pump attachment back on and then getting it into the hole on the tranny to fill it up.......boy, i will never do it again with out the lift, i just thought that i would knock it out and it took me over and hour and a half......i also used teh mobil 1 gear oil 75-90 with some lucas tranny stabilizer, which is almost identical to the x1-r gear treatment.......

oh well, just thought that i would share my tale from this morning without adding in another thread.....

Yeah, floor jack style. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png That's why I do a lot of cursing https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.png
