Guys, I hear this funny sound while I'm accelerating sometimes. It literally sounds like water rushing or dribbling through a pipe and it's coming from the passenger side dash. I'm not seeing any leaking fluids from my HVAC so it's not a leak coming into the cabin. Any ideas?

You've got air trapped in your heater core. Turn on the heater full blast while driving for 5 minutes, then check your coolant levels after the engine's cooled down completely.
|
yeah you may need to burp the system. Mine used to do that.

Just a small point, but the FD doesn't have a heater valve (unless US is different), so just burp the system (You could even try jacking up the front of the car with the sytem burping?) Or perhaps a steep driveway would be safer...
Otherwise, could be the drain pipe for the aircon is blocked and water has collected with nowhere to go. Or even water in a door- check the drain holes are clear along the bottom edge of the door. I've experienced all three of these at different times! |
Good info andynogo. I have the same problem and wasn't sure what to do about it. I will have to try these ideas out.

I know that noise very well. Check your coolant level first thing in the morn. before starting the car. If it looks low, you have a leak somewhere. I heard this noise on two diff. engines that had O-ring failure. Whatever is the cause, it def. means that you are slightly low on coolant. Hopefully, it's just a slow leak out of one of your many coolant hoses.
