Determining size and spring rate.

Can someone kinda outline this for me? I know it's a silly question, but I'm wondering if I set up a TO4S kit, and decide I don't like it... Will I be able to move to a TO4R without replacing everything?

The spring rate determines how low the boost will go, right? Like a 1 bar spring will start you off at 14.5 psi? Thanks... howstuffworks.com couldn't accurately answer my questions lol...

if you dont have a boost controller the wastegate spring is the maximum boost you can run....as long as you dont creep that is. when my ebc is off my single setup runs off of the spring which is a 13lb spring. when its on it will let me run what ever i have it set at.

With that manifold you got off ebay that flange is for the HKS race wastegate.ITs overkill but I want to leave it shiny instead of cutting it off to put the standard flange on it.Did you get it in yet?How do you like it?

ok if you do not have a boost controller, the spring will determine your boost. If you have a boost controller, it limits the amount of pressure the wastegate sees, thus takes more boost to move the spring. If you get the hks racing wastegate that is usually sold with the to4s, that will be fine for a to4r or any turbo for that matter. I would reccomend the 10psi spring, so you will allways have a very safe level of boost for daily driving.

Boost creep? lmfao...not with an HKS racing. I've seen a t-04E experience boost creep with an HKS standard wastegate though...car HAD to boost 1.0 kilos(14psi~)...and the spring was a .8(10psi~)

Haven't got it yet. I was hoping today, but I'll just wait till I get back from California next Tuesday..

So the flange is for the HKS Racing Wastegate? The like... 500 dollar one? I'd rather not cut it either... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
