I'm just wandering, are these two actuator the same? If you like take them off and switch them around, will they work the same or not? Also, is it possible for them to go bad and cause secondary boost loss? if yes, which one would that be? Wastegate or pre-control.

Thanks

They're the same solenoid.

BoOsTin FD 09-28-2003 09:58 PM

not the solenoids, hehe, I'm talking about the actuator. The ones that are bolted on the Turbos with the rods coming out of them and opening and closing the doors.

lmfao....guess I should pay more attention to reading the details before I go spouting off.

what ECU are you running?

wraith 09-28-2003 10:41 PM

the acuators are different yes. the turbo precontrol actuator is located towards the front of the turbos and towards the bottom. (to get a clear view you will need to drop the undercarage and take of the intakes). the charge control actuator is located to the back of the y-pipe right next the the carge relief valve (looks like the stock blow-off valve).

EDIT: i have a serious issue with secondary boost loss too. i only run 3.5psi past 4500 RPM....i'm not going to bother with the stock worthless hitachi pieces of **** though. going single as soon as i can.
