Anyone done it? Can't be TOO hard... Just a matter of removing all the silly stock clip on crap and running new Steel Braidid line right? I'd imagine all the correct AN fittings on the cooler are available somewhere? On the Oil filter assembly (Feed). I just want to have all nice ****. The stock crap is such a pain in the ass to work with you know?
Anyone have any hints or cautions for me before I dive in and start? That means YOU Dragon, jspecracer7, Dave, Keith, and all my other information warehouses.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif Justin |
I've never done anything like that. I wouldn't imagine it being all that big of a deal. If you can find lines with the right banjo ends etc..
|
its not that hard if u have tools or the right length lines for ur setup and the fittings.
I got a lot of fittings from summit racing, its a pain in the ass to know what fittings u need sometimes, but a phone call to them can help. I got really pissed off at waiting for parts and found some hose dealers in my state and got what I needed. If u can find someone local it helps alot. custom length of hose, counter help, etc. |
if you are gonna do that buy a bigger oil cooler!!!

What about the thermostat?? |
What size are the threads on the front plate and the oil filter neck? 14 x 1.5mm??
|
Bump.
Learned the front plate and filler neck thread sizes are smaller than the actual cooler threads. **** man, did Mazda make anything consistant? :( |
Alot of people have luck with Setrab oil coolers. If I was you I would get a R1 dual oil cooler setup and stick with stock lines or get a setrab and go all out. You gotta keep that T04R cool https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR

Justin, you're the man. Thanks!
What about the thermostat? Just bypass it or what? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif |
Get a new one from summit and a little fan that the thermostat triggers to turn on when the time is right

I went with a 25 row setrab(single) with a supra fan on the back of it. The total setup NEW should cost right around $300(I paid $200 because I bought mine used from IGY). With Dual oil coolers(25 row), the setup should cost right around $450 |
