I finally got my wheels on and while I was away on vacation my friend Adam did extensive work on my car to clean it up. He also took some pictures of it as well. are a few. Just waned to share with everyone https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

9BASE3 06-30-2004 08:38 AM

I SO hate you.

Gorgeous car.

JimmyJimboJet 06-30-2004 08:39 AM

looks sweet https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

sizes, offset, etc?

Scrub 06-30-2004 08:51 AM

haha, thanks....the size is 18x8.5 in the front and 18x9.5 in the rear. I think the offsets are 35 and 37. The fenders didn't need to be rolled but I do need to stiffen up the suspension, it sometimes hits if I'm turning and going over a bump. Makes me cringe everytime.

Fd3BOOST 06-30-2004 09:13 AM

I'm not sure how I like the gold on silver but it does look good. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Scrub 06-30-2004 10:16 AM

I'm still deciding how I like it....I try to please everyone but so far it hasn't been working. Not too many people are fans of the gold wheels...especially people who aren't into the car community and also my g/f hates them. I was thinking of getting a set of silver wheels sometime in the future.

First of all, please yourself FIRST. Who cares what anyone else thinks of your car!

2nd, I LOVE them (Disregard #1 LOL)

3rd, ditch the girlfriend. They are supposed to like EVERYTHING and ANYTHING about your car. Just like we LOVE shoe shopping. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

3rd, if you get silver, I HAVE DIBS ON THOSE!

Do I see blue lugnuts?

89 Rag 06-30-2004 11:54 AM

It looks ok with gold, but silver would be, well BOIIING!! my lug nuts would turn blue! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

lane_change 06-30-2004 12:02 PM

The Gold is the hotness....silver will look so damn plain jane....every stock FD has silver wheels....blah....stick with something different like what you got. I definately dig the (voice of Goldmember) gggooooollllddd.

Minus the whole C-west thing.....that is the only drawback. But if you are going to emmulate any FD, you sure picked a ******* nice one. Silver with gold is the ****....that is all!!!

qwester007 06-30-2004 01:16 PM

Car looks awesome- Tell anyone who dislikes it to suck it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Scrub 06-30-2004 02:35 PM

well Since I got the Vertex front and sides it's not really coying the C-west car or whatever. I just gotta get it painted and slap that thing on. You don't see blue lug nuts what you probally see is the covers for the hollow spokes. It keeps crap from getting in them.

treceb 06-30-2004 02:40 PM

me likes, if that means anything.

also i know u have a rotary extreme v mount. do you have any pics of the front of your car?

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683621.gif

whats up with those smaller than normal DE plates??

djgiantrobot 06-30-2004 03:08 PM

in DE you can keep your plates like forever and transfer from car to car, so those are the old old school DE plates i believe.

rdavidsrx7 06-30-2004 03:16 PM

uh oh, here comes the coveted pics of the vmount question that caused the huge argument in the evil forum a month or so ago.

Dan the wheels are great, upgrade your sig, and stop worryin about what others think. And next time I see you we gotta try puttin those on my car, I have always wondered what it would look like on a MB.

looks hawt....

rotaryextreme 07-01-2004 01:30 AM

Car looks hot! You are probably the only one in the US with the TCII on FD's.

It's going to look hotter after you put on the Vertex front and sideskirts! Post a lot of pix after it's done.

Don't forget to mention where you got those from so I can get more business. haha..https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I think the silver and gold looks sweet! What is the car lowered with?

Scrub 07-01-2004 08:26 AM

Thanks everyone for the replies. I love the V-mount, even on hot days the air temps aren't more then 10 degrees farenheit above ambient. When I push the car they still stay low even on the twisties (track environment). Since I haven't been to an actual road course yet I can't give you actual results, but It's a constant 7-10 degrees celcious below rdavidsrx7s air intake temps and the water temps stay very low as well. Luckily Chuck (Rotary Extreme) is the man and was able to get me a set of the Advans in a timely fashion...I would definatly recommend him to everyone. The only problem so far that I've had with the wheels is when I'm going aruond a turn and hit a bump it rubs the fender. I really need to roll them badly. Currently I am running Tein Flex suspension so it's very adjustable. I would like to have stiffer spring rates though they seem pretty conservative. I'll take a few more pictures tonight if I get a chance when I get home. Thanks again everyone.
