Hey, I had a topic about my car flooding then having no spark. Still didnt get it started but have a few questions.

Well I FINALLY had some time to do abit of testing. I went on all data in class and checked the ignitor pinouts.

I pulled the connector on the ignitor and got my DVOM out. I found that pin 2 (-coil leading), pin 5 (ign+), pin 7(coil- Trailing front) are all getting battery voltage. But Pin 3, 6 and 8 dont have squat. Those pins are the igniter signals leading and trailing, from PCM to ICM. Now I wonder if my PFC is F-ed. I sure hope it isnt!

I also noticed that with KOEO my tac reads like 3.5k. I dont think thats normal.

I didnt pull the specs off all data, but is the signal from PCM to ICM supposed to read low? I also checked it while cranking with no luck. Reading was less then a volt.

Might be PFC? Still need to get commander. =[

Any ideas, Thanks

It could be the PFC, but they usually don't go bad. I'm sure you checked all the fuses in the car, but if not start with that first. From your observation of the tach, you may have a wiring issue. either a wire shorted to ground, or to (+).

Ok, So Ive been working on my car the last few days, and have a few questions.

I checked my Crank angle sensors, Ohmed out fine, and checked the waveforms, and they were fine. I ohmed the wires from the sensors to the PCM and they ohmed out fine.

I now jumped to the ignitor. Like I said I checked all wires and ohmed the signal wires from the PCM to Ignitor. Ohmed out fine. Problem I noticed is when I pulled the connector from the coil and checked for a ground going to ignitor I got like 1 volt. Now I was pretty sure it is either 12 volts or 0. But thats not the case.

Im looking at the diagram right now. 8 wires are going in, but in the car there are only 7, the ground isnt on there. And the ignitor has 8 pins. But I know that there was only 7 in the first place. So I cant seem to figure out how the ignitor grounds.

Any one know how the ignitor grounds the coils? Because I cant seem to find that wire. Does it ground though the ignitor case maybe?

Hope someone can chime in. Thanks
