I was just curious because I don't have a voltmeter and I need to figure out which wire is the positive and which is the negative on the clutch switch. I see two wires, one being black (I'm assuming is the ground) and the other one is green with a stripe of some color (I think thats the color combo, not sure). Any help/advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Usually yes, however if you've got two wires going to a switch one won't be positive and the other negative, it will be one leg of the circuit, positive or negative.

yep, with the clutch switch it does not matter which is (+) or (-). A simple 2 wire switch either completes the circuits path, or breaks the path.

See, that makes a lot more sense actually because in the directions it tells me that all I need to do is run a switch on either one of the wires and just ground the other. So thats what I did and I'm still getting issues.

I'm hooking up the anti-lag feature on the Apexi PFC datalogit. Something has gone wrong though b/c the box stopped working with the laptop and the commander.

FYI, the clutch switch is closed when the clutch is in.. I.E. Put your foot down and both sides are hot

I did assume this b/c I saw that whenever I pushed the clutch in the Clutch Sensor lit up on the PFC Pad, but I don't understand how both are hot then. Why would they tell me to ground the other wire then?



These are the directions it lists:

-Connect one wire through an additional (arming) switch from the standard clutch switch to terminal “SW3” on the FC-Box {FC2 FC-Box 4 Switches}

-The additional switch is used to turn anti lag on and off (arm the system). Mount this within easy reach of your driving position.

-Ground the other clutch switch wire

It appears that you are supposed to bypass the stock wiring first. (jump the 2 wires together, eliminating the switch to start the car) Thats why they want you to ground the wire. What you are doing is this. ground to clutch switch, clutch switch to toggle switch, toggle to datalogit. when your toggle is "on" and you push down the clutch you turn on the anti-lag. I'm thinking you just sent 12+ into the datalogit, which is very bad!

Ohhhhh, so cut the wires then just loop the 2 back together. (Not the ones still attached to the plug) Then, use the wires still attached to the plug? One to the box and one to ground? This actually makes a lot more sense.



I still don't understand what kind of input the FCBox is going to be recieving. Would that be just a negative ground?

Yes the box will see a ground signal. Thats how most computer controlled outputs work. the ground is sent to a transistor that powers an output. Like I said, I'm just going on assumption on how to hook it up. I never tried that feature on my datalogit. However going by what the directions say, I'm guessing I am right in my idea.
