Sup everyone,



Well my question is , would the oil drain line for the stock turbos cause my car to let out blue smoke from the tail pipe?.. I know I have a leak somewhere on that side of the engine, because of the small oil spots on my parking spot. Theres times that when I'm in idle, my car looks like a damn truck letting fumes out. I never really noticed it before until I but the midpipe in. Otherwise the car runs good and boost pattern is good. How hard is it to get to those turbo oil drain lines?..

oil leaking on teh ground will not tell you what exactly is causing the car to smoke. you will know that w/out that cat, there will be some more coloration in your exhaust stream due to the undurnt oil residue in the combustion stream, but that could be due to a number of reasons. try taking off one or more of your intercooler pipes and seeing whether there is oil build up in them. if there is more than a small amount, which is totally normal, then you have an internal seal or line peaking, and my friends, you 'bos are puking oil.....too much can be detrimental to the health of the car, seeing how it *could* get through the intercooler itself and start to enter the intake air stream by way of the pipes to the throttle body......





you car, sans the cat, will have a small amount of smoking on morning start ups, but should be burned off by the time you get in an drive off and the car has warmed. if there is still smoke, then your problem lies WITHIN the turbos, not with a leaking line....

nah, the line goes back to the engine/oilpan. the leak could cause smoke in the engine compartment though. you are burning the oil, either the engine ir a turbo seal :(

get the money to fix it.

just try to differentiate where exactly you think the problem might be coming from. turbos, seals in the motor....yadda.....

I had the car on the lift and found the leak coming from the omp, all of the mounting bolts were loose. That guy that did the engine install didn't tighten them too good. I know it doesn't make sense , but the car smokes less now https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif , I'll be putting in a fmic this weekend if you feel like helping me and Manny, let me know.

yeah my turbos are shot as well, and i get the "diesel smoking truck" look once in a while, depends on if i've heated up the turbos well or not, sometimes it smokes sometimes it doesn't. Supposedly if you have unoiled filters, it will cause bad smoking, because of vacuum and backpressure on the seals... i read this somewhere, so might wanna oil up your air filters or buy new pre-oiled ones.. might help.. i know i didn't have this problem until my filters got hard and crusty.. ie why i'm replacing them. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif
