Hey, i've got a 93 FD, and i just bought a jdm 13btt for it and i am wondering if anyone knows of or had seen a true dual exhaust to fit it? Not a dual tipped one, but one with a "y" joint. I have seen them for the 2nd gen, would one of those fit with only a little modification?

Thanks, pictures help to.

No. Different chassis, suspension, gas tank location etc. than the FC. Look under the car. I've never considered it but I'd bet routing and tuning (the exhaust) would be damn near impossible. Thinking out-loud further...in states with emissions...you couldn't pass visual. If you didn't have a visual, you'd need two cats. If you didn't have emissions and were still running twins, you'd have to think about creep. Extra costs aside, I doubt it would offer real performance benefits over a good 3" downpipe, hi-flow cat and catback.

apexi dual n1's for FD are a single pipe split into two small N1 mufflers, its louder than buying a dual tip racing beat exhaust though

A "true" dual exhaust for a rotary would be one rotor to one pipe. Sometimes there are pressure balancing pipes between the two independent exhaust pipes.

For an FD, a "True" dual is not possible. Even a split exhaust (as you are inquiring about) would require massive amounts of modifications for it to even look right... and it would serve literally no benefit over a good single exhaust pipe.

I had RB true duals on my old FC and one thing I remember about them was how f-in heavy they were...heavier than the stock set up IIRC. Another thing is how mean they sounded.

But yeah, that's probably one of the reasons why true duals aren't seen on FDs...weight.
