use a good synthetic oil (redline or NEO), and replace your synchro. I've had: 79, 80, 84, 86, and 93 rx-7's, all 5spd, and the 93 tranny when all synchros are in one piece is by FAR the best of the bunch. While you're rebuilding the tranny, you should look into the upgraded spring to help keep you from doing the 2-5 shift that breaks the synchros, and also look into the upgraded aluminum shift lever bushing that sits at the base of the shifter. IIRC, the bushing was about $15, and the spring was about $25....both well worth the money, and if you're going to have the tranny apart, might as well do them.

Somehow complaining about a tranny when knowing it needs some work seems a little odd. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

I was stating the fact that i perferd the earlyer model trans better . but thanks

And I was stating that comparing the feel of a broken tranny to a non-broken tranny seems a bit odd. I was also pointing out that after driving the earlier trans and the later trans, I have a decent frame of reference to compare. perhaps that was lost in translation.

BTW, should add Royal Purple to the oils list, now that phins can sell it here on NP. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif
