140ish. I don't know how you guys do that. I've been in my brother's 2000 Audi S4, and the speedo read about ~172, we have a video of it, and it's nuts. I can't believe how we managed to stay alive. In the video, we are going over a hill, and the car kinda 'floats' over the hill so to say... nuts i tell ya, i was shaking for about 4 hours straight after that
once you get used to that - normal.

I go top speed nearly every time I hit the highway. Had fast cars befor and drove 100 times over 160.

Nothing special any more - might be the risk now.

Only preresquisites: free highway, new tires, not being tyred, being alone

Stock one will do around 160 mph or so maximum due to drag vs power limitations.

I've got a single turbo with ~400 rwhp that will get up to 160 in no time... I just didn't have the guts to go for more since it was dark out and I was massively overdriving my headlights. It does 40-140 mph in about 12 seconds which ain't too bad. heh.

Right now, my tranny is out and I'm putting in a shorter 5th gear (0.806:1 ratio). This will limit my top speed to around 180 mph (limited by the redline, not by lack of power) compared to the stock car's redline-limited top speed of around 200 but who cares? I don't need to do 200 and I'll have a nice bump in torque to the wheels from 145-165 mph zone over the stock 5th.

Anyhow should be fun!

I've owned 3 Mazda Rotary cars, an RX4 12a, a RX5 13b and now a RX7 Convertible, I've only ever pushed the RX4 and that was on a highway run that was both long and smooth total run length was 50 to 100 Km AND IT TOOK A VERY LONG TIME TO WIND OUT. Yep Young Dumb and full of ***.
The RX4 Taco stops at 8,000RPM speedo at I think 200MPH. Taco was off the clock at about 6 O'clock on the dial, my best guess was 10,000 to 11,000RPM I believe the speed was also off the clock, but I was a little busy at that point. The car became very unstable, it felt like the shockies were topping out, and the car was about to lift off the road.

Did a Dyno run some time later and much to the technicians shock I asked him to wind it out to about 8,000RPM, I calculated that my speedo would have been about 35Kph out on my run, so I can't give you the answer as both gauges were off the clock.

I've since learn't that tyres are not rated to that speed, and had anything gone wrong they would still be picking up pieces of me now.

Silly thing to do But GOD I loved the feeling
