i have 2 sets of wheels, a pr of 17x8's, and a pr of 17x9's, the wheels and tire sizes noted will fit according to the tire size calculators on the forums.



tire rack tells me i can wrap these with four 235 45 17's

or

235 45 17's on the front, and 265 40 17's on the rear.



the car is an automatic, so i dont foresee a future of smoky burnouts.... why would you want to run larger width tires in the rear vs 4 of the same size tires? besides the fact that wide tires look hawt..

Well, Just to give you some info... 99+ fds came with 17x8 front, 17x8.5 rear.. Tires: 235/45 F, 255/40 R.



I just purchases S03 235/45 F and 365/40 R toyo T1S. I had 235/45F and 255/40R T1S prior to this on GramLight 17x8.5 and 17x9.5s.



I'm now running until I get the tires mounted, 18x7.5 215/35/18 Kumos and 18x8 235/40 Contisport2s.



There is a huge difference when I'm pushing the car and braking.. With my 17s, I felt secure.. 18s... I'm scare to push the car as I feel out of control as it spins and abs kicks in when I'm stopping..



You want to put slightly larger rear as you want to transfer the power to the ground. Obviously if you aren't making much, you don't need it.. But for your wheels, I say go with 265s in the rear.

keep in mind... cant rotate em on a stagerred setup

im runnin 275s in the rear myself with 245s up front...

did you have to roll the front fender to get the 245's on? these wheels are 38 mm offset (from a soarer nee lexus 300). i was leaning towards 4 245's, i didnt think that the auto would be that rough on the rear tires. i like the idea of being able to rotate tires, but 265's would have that look...

guess i'll just wait ti i have the money and impulse buy!

I would not go smaller than 265 on the rear with a 9" rim. It will clear and the more rubber you can get back there the better off your going to be. I dont know that I would go larger than a 235 upfront. I am pretty sure 245's will rub the front fenders if you have lower than stock supsension.



235/265 is the way to go with your wheels. If you had 9.5 in the back I would say 275.

I'm running 245 up front, 275 in back on 18s, on BFG KDWs working out great for me so far. On the other hand, I havent really tossed it around either.



I was running 235/285 but this seems to work better.

i have 235/265 w/o rolled fenders. can you fit a 275 in back w/o rolling the fenders?



BTW my 235 rub a little with a lower suspension so i think the 245 would be worse.



What is everyone running for offset?

You know, I was positive I was gonna rub without rolling fenders, but so far so good. Also at stock ride height though....



When i throw some coilovers on it rolling is gonna be a necessity.

Sweet what offset you running, i want to know if i can fit 275 Toyo RA1 in back without rolling my fenders
