i just looked at my throtle cable today and noticed that it is frayed and about to snap. i am wondering how hard it is to replace and if anyone has instructions on how to do it.

Not too hard to do. I have a RHD so it will be a little different, but directions should still be the same. The hardest part will be disconnecting it from the firewall...so do that first. After that, disconnect it from the throttle body and then go inside the car and push the gas pedal down so you can slide it off of the pedal.
Order the part from mazda first(or get it used from somebody). After that, just take a screw driver and rip out the old one(since your not using it anymore) Push the pedal end of the throttle cable into the hole in the firewall. Connect the pedal to the cable. Then go and connect the throttle body end. That's it! |
cool thanks a lot

So i finally got my throtle cable today. The install was easy but while installing it i noticed there was another cable going to the throtle body. I am wondering what this cable is for because for some reason when i bought my car it wasnt attached. So is this other cable important?
