Does anyone have any info on coverting to a T-56 six speed tranny, I"ve heard there is an adapter kit you can get but I can't find it. I"ve gone through two race built trannys in 4 months cuase I keep cracking the tranny case cuase i launch to hard and I need somthing stronger.

its that tranny gear for low Rpms and torque? so it wouldn't work well with high revving rotaries.....

where are you breaking the tranny exactly....

If youll look at the ratios of the 93 F body T56, theyre very close to RX7 ratios, with the exception of the 5th and 6th gears splitting the 5th gear ratio on the rx7 tranny. the 94-97 f-body T56 has slightly taller gears, but a 4.3 rear diff will bring it back very close to the RX7 transmission.

Heres a break down of the ratios:

93 T56 94-97 T56 93-95 RX7

1st 2.97 2.66 3.483

2nd 2.07 1.78 2.015

3rd 1.43 1.30 1.391

4th 1.00 1.00 1.000

5th 0.80 0.78 0.719

6th 0.62 0.50

The first gear on the T56's are a good bit taller than the RX7 one, but is that really a bad thing? It will load the engine more, and make a little more boost in 1st gear. And a 4.3 diff gear will make for pretty nice ratios on 1st -5th, and a good overdrive.
