Well I was tightening the last bolt towards the firewall after putting on the UIM. I've been having a hard time with it not getting tight but now I totally stripped the stud out of the LIM. What can I do? Is there a stud that's a little bigger on one end while maintaining the same size on the other end? Basically I'm looking for part numbers on the studs and any ideas on what I have to do. I'm probably leaking some air out of there.

Thanks!

The nuts for the intake manifold don't take much torque. Get a stud remover kit to get the old one out or use a pair of vice grips. Put a rag or something into the holes in the manifold so you don't drop it in.

getting it out is no problem....I've just stripped some metal out of the lim because I could see it on the threads. I probably have to get a bigger size stud right? Theres nothing wrong with the nut or stud I've just stripped the lim because I over tightened it.

the easiest thing to do is get a stud the next size up, tap the lim for that stud, drill that one hole on the uim a hair bogger, and put it all together. And like mentioned above, you don't have to make it super tight.!
