how much boost can u run on the stock injectors with a whalbro 255?

jspecracer7 04-13-2006 05:30 PM

Not very high. Also depends on tuning.

JBs93FD 04-13-2006 06:29 PM

have any numbers?

z-beater 04-13-2006 06:49 PM

There was a great calculator that I used to figure out how much fuel I needed. Anyone have this?

I woulndn't run past 12lbs on the stockers. The last motor I saw blow was at 14psi on stockers. I said 13 in an earlier post. I looked the info up. The injector duty cycle was at 93% at 13lbs w/ a good tune. cold night=boost spike=bye motor.

Its not worth taking the chance.

JBs93FD 04-14-2006 01:40 AM

so he had a walbro 255 with stock injectors? if thats so its alittle hard to believe I ran 12 pounds on stock pump and injectors at 11.8\1 air fuel but i had it tuned for that temp range and i have a plx wideband running closed loop on my aem so it keeps my air fuel mix realy close to my tagett air ful ratio is.

JBs93FD 04-14-2006 01:42 AM

And technicaly you can run 120% duty cycle but thats maxed

JBs93FD 04-14-2006 04:34 PM

calculator is great thanks lots

turbovr6 was running over 16lbs of boost and his car ended up blowing form a bad coolant seal.... and according to him, he literally tried to blow up the motor

they last longer when you try to kill em

you really don't want to go above 85% injector duty cycle after that the injector especially the stock ones have a tendancy to stick form all the heat of opening and closing at such a fast rate. but as far a the stock fueel system I wouldn't go above 325hp (flywheel) on the stock injectors with a new pump.

Ya duty cyles on an aem are screwed up at 10 pounds with minor fuel stipulations it had a 120% duty thats impossible stock dutys are 63% the most it could have been is 80
