Will it hurt my car in any way to remove the plastic tubes that goe from the valve to the intake airbox???

Danno 02-11-2005 07:59 PM

Nope not at all. Just plug the hole on the air box with caps. I used rubber chair ends to plug them.

rx7girltk 02-11-2005 09:01 PM

why do you need to cap the holes on the airbox?

tampaFD 02-11-2005 10:45 PM

it has been awhile since i have seen a stock air box but i would think any holes in the air box, after the filter, would let in sand, dirt, lemmings etc... none of which make good hp numbers

im not sure but I think he meant the hole in the TID. (Just going by what is under the hood of my S4 since I dont know what you drive)

You definately have to plug this hole or you will have a hell of a time keeping the car started since it is located after the MAF. I paid a buck at Autozone for a threaded plug for the hole. (pretty chrome) Other than that it shouldnt hurt anything

those valves are after the filter, if you dont cap it off, it sucks in dirty hot air

FD has no MAF so this is not an issue. I am assuming FD because this is the 3rd gen specific forum.

You only need to plug the hole on the airbox because it is after the filter and will allow dirt into the intake system

disconnect the tube but leave it attached to the airbox then cap off that.

=____= blah **** ghetto rigging. but im guilty of it myself. just do the 1st turbo. that should give u enough jollies till u just go and buy an aftermarket 1. haha
