I mainly do street driving with enthusiasm, and tract once a year. I don't want to go coil over, so i am looking at Tokico likel. I don't mind a bit harsher ride, but not 'race' hard. So far it looks like it is between RB and H&R. any advice or experience appreciated.

racing beat. however, they go better with the koni shox. the tokico shocks, from my experience with both and them some, seem to wear and loose their velving seals more quickly than those of teh koni's.....they have a better hydraulic section.

You should really consider upgrading to adjustable shocks along with the springs to provide you with a better handling car. With the stock shocks the ride quality and handling is going to be about the same, its only untill you can change the dampening that you will experience a slightly stiffer ride to full race. The racing beats are nice, my friend has them on his FD along with koni adjustable shocks. I have eibach springs with the koni shocks. With the racing beat the rear end will be lowererd more than the front leveling the car more overall. I prefer the stock stance being slightly higher in the rear. I believe the racing beat lowers it 3/4" in the front and 1.5" in the rear, the eibach's are an inch all around. Along with the koni shocks you can lower it an extra half inch to inch, or leave it in the stock height, plus fully adjustable dampening depending on what you prefer. This is what my car looks like with eibach and koni's lowered as much as possible, I also have them set for the stiffest ride.

Ok, so i got two votes for Koni's over Tokico's. And a vote for Racing Beat, and one Eibach. How is the ride on those springs? i have 18' rims, so i already have a little harsher ride.



I heard the koni, don't have clicks, or a good dial to make sure they are same stiffness, is that true, or just an older model?

I have the konis. no complaints at all.

The koni's don't have "clicks", but its very easy to make sure they are all equal using the knobs they give you to adjust them.....using 1/8th, 1/4, 1/2, ect... turns. As far as ride quality, it won't suffer that much untill you begin to stiffen the ride using the shocks.

I've had Koni's on many of my cars and love them. I have them for my RX7 but havn't put them on yet. I plan on installing them along with Racing Beat Springs and Sway Bars on Wednesday. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

Yeah I have racing beat sway bars too, along with the springs and shocks and tower braces its an awsome handling car.

18 inch wheels and aftermarket springs sound like they could be an equation for some fender rubbing. I know of several guys that have had problems rubbing fenders with stock wheel and tire sizes with aftermarket springs on the autox course.
