My '93 R1 is in need of a suspension upgrade in a bad way. The car has been lowered at least an inch by a previous owner. The ride will jar your teeth out even on smoother roads. I bought a set of Tokico 5-way adjustable shocks since I do so much distance driving, I wanted to be able to adjust the ride to some degree. Now I need the springs to go with it. I don't mind the lower ride but I want something that won't be such a harsh ride. Can anyone suggest a set?

yup, I got some H&Rs and love them. Although at times I wiss I had Eibachs because my car is pretty low now and tends to scrape.

ground controls with eibachs..

specifiy your preferred spring rates..

this is considering your current adjustables and requirement to adjust..

otherwise id recommend coilovers..

I'd say go with coilovers. I just installed my GAB coilovers. WOW what a great ride the car has now, and handling,,,,,OMG!!!

you made the correct initial move ditching the r1 shocks. your car should be riding alot better w the Tokikos. i have a shock dyno and whoever valved the R1s must have been on drugs. i also have a very accurate electronic spring rate evaluating machine. the R1 spring is the same as the non R1. As to springs, it does depend on what you want to spend, how you use your car etc... i have had really good results w the Eibach comfortsport springs. their rate is up 33% from stock. they ride great on the street and track and really tighten the car up. they drop the ride height to very close to what i consider optimum which is 25 inches at the front and rear wheel wells. you won't go wrong w these inexpensive springs. i have not evaluated the H&Rs but could give you an opinion if you can determine the rate. i recommend Tein HA (the cheapest of Tein's line) coil-overs. just under $1000. perfect spring rate and nice adjustability as to shocks. gorgeous build quality for the money. don't forget your tires function as springs... more tire pressure, more "spring rate." i recommend 29 psi front 27 rear measured cold.

springs did not vary from models..

it was from the shockers.. and the differences are with the r1s... not r2s

as far as the pressure..this would vary entirely on application and tire specs..
