its about time for me to replace my spark plugs.
i just wanted to hear some imput from you guys on what type of plugs you use what brand? what temp? and what material (irridium, platenum, etc.) thanks |
No platenum. It isnt good for turbocharged or N20 engines. Just get the stock replacements (NGK?) at autozone. Get the '9' heat range for all four. This will run better with your setup martin.
I think the partnumber is like BERQ9somethingblah Just get the 9's all around. |
autozone doesn't sell NGK plugs, but advance auto does.
|
yeah just get "9's" all around. no crazy hi-perf plugs, unless you want to crack apex seals
|
I used the stock 9's the whole way around on the single turbo with 18psi for 20k miles with zero problems.
|
any different recommendation for bone stock or will four 9's work good in that situation too? (i've just been using the bur7eqp and bur9eqp??)
anyone seen the plugs for the rx-8? i dont know anything about plugs but someone beside me said they weren't "top gap" anymore which was apparently good(?) fritz |
wouldnt 9's all around give suckier startups?

Part number is BUR9EQ for the stock trailing plug. |
I run stock plugs on my daily driver times and 10s when im draging and racing...
|
how often should the plug wires be changed? ever? or just if they are 10 years old and cracking? do "high perf" wires matter? (stock ignition, pfc)
