Ok, I recently bought a racing bucket seat that requires the use of side mount rails. I was informed that I needed Sparco side mount rails to install the seat. I purchased them and got the stock seat out of the car. Now I cant figure out how to get the Sparco rails in. They are by no means long enough to reach the holes from the stock seat rails and there is no way I have found to hook them up to stock rails (and of course Sparco didnt provide me with instructions). If any of you have any idea how to put these in it would be appreciated.

You are going to have to make seat brackets for the seats. There is no way of getting around this one...

you are kiddint me right?? What kind of shop could make those? You would think that for how long this car has been around and how many people actually race them there would be direct fit rails out there

bolt them thru the floor pan.... or get 2 peices of flat bar long enough to fit the stock holes and mount the side rails to that... not really anyway around these two options.

what do you recommend using for the brackets (metal)? I have no metal working experience and dont know of a shop around here that can do it.

I would suggest putting the stock one back in until you can find a place to fabricate you one properly. This is a real safety concern here.

I already re-installed the stock seat... I was just wondering if anyone had already made brackets they could give a write up on.. this seems to be a long standing issue

Maybe bobby could?

I made adapters to bolt my sparcos to the stock rail.

However he has a seat with side mounts, he cannot adapt the sidemount to the stock rail in the same way I did.

My suggestion (if you want to keep the sliders) would be to take those brackets you posted to a machine or fabrication shop and have them flatten the side peice to remove the upside down question mark shape. Doing that should bring the horizontal part of the bracket inward enough to put it squarely over the slider, where it can be welded on.

Or to make it easy just get a Momo wheel with quick release so you don't have to ever move the seat. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
