yea, so after installing some new ignition wires, i went to connect the intake pipe to my throttle body, and overtorqued the top right bolt. The bolt cracked in half and now about an inch of it is left connected to the throttle body. Can I get a machine shop to pull it out and put a new one in, or do i need to order another throttle body. Comments would be appreciated

thanks

I've had this happen to me a long time ago, and if I remember correctly the studs are only threaded on the ends. I just used some PBlaster(isn't that what it's called?) and a pair of vise grips. Be careful when extracting the studs... they tend to rip apart easily.

You should be about to remove it with a vise grip

alright, good news thanks. Do you guys, or anyone else, know what kind of stud i have to put in there, or where to get it?

thanks

If I remember right, most of the throttle body studs are an M6 1.0 pitch size. I have had better luck finding metric stuff at mom and pop hardware stores than at the giant ones like home depot. Also, you should be able to just replace it with a flange bolt (the kind that has a round washer flange already on it).

And if you can't get it out with PB Blaster and visegrips, then try buying a stud/screw extractor from a hardware store. And if that doesn't work, then its time to buy a tap and die set, which is not very fun. Don't ask me how I know. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png
