Hey guys, Anyone know the diameter of the stock Catback system?

Thanks, J

its prolly 60mm, 3" works great

NTIMD8 12-21-2006 12:23 PM

Anyone know for sure? Is it 2 1/4"?

I thought ot was 2". I couold measure one I have lying around if you need it that bad. What do you want to know for?

NTIMD8 12-21-2006 05:49 PM

Well I do not need to know "that" bad. If you happen to walk by your old exhaust with a tape measure in your hand that would be cool. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

I found an unreal deal on a 2.5" system and with the muffler flowing far more than the stock unit I am thinking it will support the power I want to run.

2" would seem kinda small I would say atleast 2.5", but if I was going to replace it I would go with 3" probably.

everything to go 3" on your car is pretty cheap, 2.5" might be more just cause there isnt many using them on there cars just a thought... but heck a cat back on these cars almost always use 3" so might as well go there too it wont hurt anything unless you just hate 3"???

I bet the internet norm in a few years is going to be 3.5, then 4" is another 5 or so...

For my set-up I would rather stick to a 2.5" SS system with a nice flowing muffler. My mods are going to just basic upgrades and this system should give me less back pressure while keeping boost creep at bay. I found s System that used to sell for over $1100 CDN for $225 CDN shipped to my door!!!!! Long story behind how I got this pricing and I will get into the details later but basically it is from a company I used to have an account with before I sold my Company (Speed Shop). If the kit is as good as the rest of this companies exhausts I will post the info for other RX-7 owners who want to go this way for a deal of a lifetime. Heck even if someone wanted to replace the OEM system because they needed one this would be a much cheaper way togo!!
