Hey fellow Rotorheads, I'm balls deep in my first single turbo swap, and I have a few questions.

Attachment 16638

I'm fairly sure that the red circled line is the oil feed to the turbo, but...

I'm not 100% sure what the yellow circled line is...

Also...

Attachment 16639

The blue circled area is a rats nest of solenoids and vacuum lines, can I get rid of these completely?

Last question: Would it be a bad idea to use a silicone 90 degree angle piece of pipe as the first piece on the outlet of the turbo?

Thank you in advance for your help,

Travis

red circle is oil feed to the turbos...

yellow is the vacuum port that went from the primary turbo inlet to the oil filler (IIRC) ... part of the PCV system

Blue circle....yes, you can remove 99% of that crap while going single.

wouldn't call it a bad idea to use a 90* silicone elbow coming off the turbo... but if it were me, i'd have an aluminum one welded onto the turbo housing then use a straight coupler ..

Yeah, I would too, but I'm running into clearance issues, and the turbo outlet is 2.5" inches and all of my IC piping is 2.75" my biggest concern is that the pressure straight out of the turbo hitting that elbow will blow the connection off, I don't think that the heat would be an issue, but I could be wrong.

Also, for the vacuum port, I should just be able to put a vacuum cap on that and forget about it, right?

Are you refering to the port off the oil fill neck or off the manafold w/ the pcv valve?

The PCV can be vacuum capped as long as you run some sort of catchcan off the oil fill neck and give it a vacuum sorce pre-turbo.

Here is a pic of how I ran mine:

Right line off the can goes to the primary turbo inlet and the left line goes to the oil fill neck.
