Im in the process of looking for some seats to put in my 93. im 6'2'' tall, pretty big shoulders. I need my seats to drop a little bit because the steering wheel is too low, what dimensions should i get, lliked i said i need the seats to drop a lil bit, thanks for the suggestions.

It would be easier to get a smaller diameter steering wheel. The stock seats are about as low as you can get. I can't imagine that lower racing seats would offer any more room that a smaller steering wheel would.

I have a Sparco racing seat in my car. The difference as far as height is nominal. If you are built like that, you shouldn't have bought an RX-7. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png However, you can gain about an inch or so by removing the seat slider and fabricating a mount that bolts directly to the floor. I'm 6' and fairly well proportioned with a stock steering wheel, Sparco fixed (nonreclining) seat with a slider, and a roll cage behind me. I fit just fine. It's a bit tight but it feels like a race car. When my 6' 3" 280lb friend tries to get in, he has to slide the seat all the way back to the roll cage and squirm in. He loves the car, but said he could never drive one. Try pulling the seat and slider out and put a 1" thick book on the floor. Sit on it. That's about as low as you can go. It is probably the equivalent to a racing seat with no padding and no slider.

thats funny as ****, i might have to try the book lol, think id slide going into turns ?? lolol, no i dont have a problem fitting, i got a smaller diameter swheel, and i just wanted to find some bucket seats or sliders and brackets that drop the seat a lil, i got plenty of head room, one thing about being tall with long legs, is pushing the seat back and reclining it does allow me to get to the pedals without hitting the roof, i could never do it without a reclining seat though, how comfortable is yours??? honestly?? dont u ever just wanna lean backkk. thanks for the suggestions, i like the book one lol

I just meant to use the book to find out if you'll be able to get low enough. I like my seat. It was in the car when I bought it so I can only compare it to the pass. seat. At first it was uncomfortable to get in and out. But after time you get the "controlled fall" down and it's not bad. Now I actually like the snug fit! I don't go anywhere in the turns. My ass is planted. The blood in my head, however, goes where ever. You know you have a good car and a good seat when you get light headed going around a corner hard. I saw a chart for racing seats in an old Super Street(?) magazine. It gave ideal dimensions of the driver for each seat. Just get one that is made for someone built like you. I will try to find it.

As far as leaning back the custom seat mount reclines about 2 degrees https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif I am going to make one that reclines more though (about 10-15 degrees). You can get a fixed seat and make it recline and even adjustable. The only thing is that as the back reclines so does the bottom.
