Top Speed

Lost Time, what did you get your FD up to when it was stock? I've been to 150 on mine and left it at that for the day and sake of bleeding speed without having to stomp the brakes. It was still pulling although, I don't recall what rpm in 5th I was at before I took my foot off the pedal.

wouldnt it be the same top speed as a unmodified car since a car's top speed is restricted by its gear ratios. i think it will just get to the top speed a lot faster than a unmodified car.

I had my car at an "indicated" 170 when it was stock. Not sure what the real MPH was on that though.
The gearing will limit the top speed provided there is enough power to overcome drag. Even a stock FD should be able to top out in fifth gear, it just might take a while to get there.
dom - You really shouldn't be so concerned with how fast the car will top out at various hp outputs. My car is in the 450hp range and VERY rarely to I get a chance to get over 100mph. I'll be lucky to top out 3rd gear before having to slow for something or other.

the factory GEARED red-line top speed in 5th is 200mph or 25mph for every 1000rpm. seems cool, but you will need to greatly increase your power and torque to pull the car past 180 mark...it is possible. i have my "slightly" modded black 93 touring to 174~178.....with the windows down, sunroof open......and a passenger......the avc-r speed registered the lower number. the tach said roughly 178......i guess that there is a matter of correction there, but which one is more correct? we will never know.....
i recently got my red fd to 165mph, passenger included, however, with the size of the wheel and tires that i am running, and the ruts that are in the highway, i do not feel comfortable, therefor backed down....
