hey guys this winter im looking to pull my fd apart and start new and ported https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png im looking at the crate engine from rx7 store wondering if any one has picked one up and if they are worth dealing with ?

RX7Store is a good company but I would think you could do a rebuild much cheaper. I would, personally, prefer to send my shortblock to RX7Store, Defined Autoworks, or another reputable rotary company for a rebuild and some upgrades and save a ton of money!

If you're adamant about having a brand new motor, I, personally, wouldn't hesitate to buy from RX7Store.

thanks the only place who can/will do it gave me a price of 4gs so rx7 store sounds good to me and a good engine or save some coin ill go with the good engine

Why do you think a professionally rebuilt motor won't be a "good" motor? Just curious. I completely agree not to cheap out when you're talking motor build, but, in my opinion, if you use a reputable rebuilder you'll have a better motor (machine work, porting, etc). Just my $.02.

i dont think that at all just the only place around me has some what of a bad rep and seem to overcharge so thats why i looked in to the rx7 store

pull your motor apart.. have it ported.. put it back together...

get intimate with your car.. youll enjoy her more knowing what youve accomplished.. imho

Yeah but not everyone is comfortable with that! LoL. I agree, though, and that's why my new FD has been on jack stands 4 of 5 weeks I've had it. >< HA

You can send your short block off to reputable places. Both RX7Store and Defined Autoworks are in Columbus (I'm about 1.5 hours south) so I guess I'm lucky, but that's not an uncommon practice, I wouldn't think.

Just suggestions! Ultimately it's your car and you have to do what you're comfortable with... If you do buy a crate motor, let me know what you do with your motor, though. :-)
