Hey guys, Im new to the forum and the rotary engine in general, just bought a 93 rx7 with a single turbo swap and was looking to upgrade the brakes. My question is if I can get the factory front calipers to fit on the rear of the car without making custom brackets? I want to get ksports up front and powdercoat the factory front calipers and transfer them to the back.

The factory brakes are already pretty damn good. I just had my rotors drilled to help with cooling and swapped to non abs to upgrade my brakes.

unless you are doing open lapping on a road course, your brakes are more than adequate already. When you start playing with big brake kits, you are opening a can of worms that is gonna be hard to get finally bias properly. Also, with your ABS fuse removed.. can you lock your wheels up and skid? If so.. you have more brakes than tires already... do some cooling ducts and buy beer with the $$ you saved by not buying a brake kit.

Never even heard of doing such a thing...using front brakes on the rear. And I agree, even if it's possible to do practically, proper brake bias would be screwed.



If the car is primarily street driven, I would think big-bake kits...or doing what the OP suggests is a waste of time and money. I don't track but even with the occasonal track session with sticky tires, I think money would be better spent on quality rotors, proper track pads and good fresh hi-temp brake fluid.
