I just did an oil change with royal purple...I don't ever think I'll go back to valvoline*

Any other suggestions on other fluids?

*unless I'm broke.

JhnRX7 03-17-2003 03:39 PM

what are the advantages/disadvantages of Royal Purple oil?

LannyRX7 03-17-2003 09:33 PM

I dunno... it says it saves the engine, increases gas mileage, and increases horsepower...but it does run alot smoother.

And it's PURPLE!

TYSON 03-17-2003 09:40 PM

Are you sure you can use it with the OMP? How clean does Royal Purple burn? Or do you pre-mix only?

rxotic 03-18-2003 12:00 AM

I use royal purple in my car. I have not had any problems.

wait up......... isnt that a claim for anything that has to do with products for the engeine

During the recent 7stock it was said Royal Purple is safe to use in rotaries. I think it was Racing Beat that said this.

Like I said I don't know if it actually does all of that crap... but the car runs alot smoother. It even revs cleaner. Suspension is still rough tho.

I have seen on car shows on Tv, where they have tested motor oils on brand new cars, and a SS camaro gained 10rwhp with just a royal purple oil change.

Where is the best place to buy it and how much is the cost per quart?

r_xplicit 03-19-2003 08:01 PM

that **** is like 6.50 a quart.......no joke it is expensive......i will stick with my vr-1 racing oil by valvoline @ 1.69/qt, and change it every 2k miles....and on top of it being cheaper, it has very low ash content and burns off LESS oil through an oil change period than any synthetic that i put in the car.....

JadedX 03-20-2003 12:48 PM

damn

VR1 oil is good for me plus some lucas oil

Turbo II 03-20-2003 12:50 PM

i use racing fluid in my malibu. i tried royal purple in the TII once and never had a chance to try again. but u do feel a difference

Jims5543 03-20-2003 06:54 PM

I used Royal Purple in my TII and noticed lower temp when Autocrossing. I no longer have a OMP so I am running AMSOIL 20W50 Racing oil in my engine and Amsoil 100:1 Synthetic Racing Premix in my tank. So far so good. Amsoil claims to be way out ahead of the rest as far as synthetics go.

teknics 03-21-2003 01:56 PM

i use water as a lubricant, peanut butter is good too.

LannyRX7 03-22-2003 12:37 AM

It seems to run/rev alot smoother..seriously. I don't think I gained enough hp from it to actually feel the difference if any.
