OK my FD has been down for almost 2 months now. I now have it back together and it is runnning very rough. I didn't tear the engine apart but I Did do the silicone hoses, replaced the fuel lines, added new spark plugs and new wires. I did all this because it was running really rough and nothing has changed.
I did do a compression test and it was good. My only solution now is that one of my injectors is bad or something in the turbos area of the engine compartment. I am starting to doubt it is an injector becuse I just ran it till it was warm an dnoticed that there is SMOKE coming from the turbos. What would cause this smoke? I was thinking the gasket between the turbos and the engine or something like that. Can you help me out? |
First step check map sensor. Black box on firewall under driver side wiper.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Why would the map sensor have anything to do with smoke coming form the turbos and how do you check the map sensor?

The vacume line was not connected to the sensor. Now the car runs great.
|
hahah, cool. Yeah, speed/density efi doesnt like it when the map sensor isnt connected to the manifold https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

I guess it doesn't. I can't believe one vacume line cause me 2 months of aggrivation. In the proccess I did do a lot of things I have been procrasinating on like the silicone hoses and new plug wires. Now I am gonna do the down pipe tommorrow.
