Removed the UIM in hopes of reaching the injectors...i need to pull them and send them to be cleaned....

are there any write ups on how to pull the injectors and reinstall properly

what should i do as far as getting to them...i really do not want to have to remove the rats nest...are there any shortcuts.... this is my FIRST time under the UIM so i am a new to all the hoses everywhere and dont want to mess up detail is important to me

In my opinion, its hard to take out the injectors with the rails still on the engine.. In order to get to the rails, you might un hook the fuel lines and take 4 x 12mm bolts off the primary and secondary rails.

But out of curiousity, are you having issues with your car?? why are you wanting to send them out??

car runs terribly rich on startup when sitting for more than an hour....the fuel pressure drops off to zero within 1 hours...terrible idle when first cranked...sounds like a blown seal and fires on one rotor although the vac gauge remains at 19in

- im pretty much positive its a leaky injector...the car runs great otherwise....it just takes a few minutes of warming up and good to go...o and its definately not coolant seal because it smells like a GAS STATION when i crank it up

I see.. That could well be the problem.

But the car starts fine if you start it after its been running??

If you feel that thats the issue, It wouldn't hurt getting it checked...

thats exactly the issue...starts fine perfect idle everything....i have really been into working on the car on my own...i do not want to get it checked ive yet to take it anywhere...i have the uim off right now in the process of changing all my coolant hoses and radiator fans i just want to get to the injectors pull them and send them to witchhunter maybe throw in 1300cc secondaries but i dont know the best shortcut to get to them?

should i remove the lim? should i pull out the vaccum rack? i can't possibly access these 4x12mm bolts without removing something hell i dont even see them lol

If you see the both rails, you will see the bolts that hold the rail in place. I personally can't remember in details (I did 10+ but most of them the engine was out) but I think you just need to move few vac lines out of the way.

im going to take a picture...there a huge metal block of crap in the way bolted to the back upper side of the lim

herblenny 05-06-2007 01:29 AM

Thats the ACV.. you could try to remove that if you don't have emission..

that willl block the view of the other bolt. you could take the LIM off but that will require your turbos to be off also (if twins).

that the huge block connected to the lim is the ACV?? Do you have yours....ive already ditched airpump and cats....i mean we live in alabama who cares....so it looks like im going to HAVE to remove the ACV...it already has all the welded up block off plates all over it...can it be removed without needing any plates to cover up the spots on the lim?

i really appreciate the help

Most people put block off plates.. If you bought the block off plate kit from RX7store, you should have one for that.
