I'm having trouble finding a good place to purchase the following to items I'd like to put on my FD:

1) The brake ducts from the R1 model

2) Euro Spec Headlight Lenses. I got these for my Miata a while back and they make a world of difference. Can't seem to find them for the 3rd gen RX7.

Any suggestions?

What's the difference with the Euro spec headlight lenses?

j9fd3s 05-14-2003 10:50 AM

the fd doesnt have euro headlights, we looked.

Damn... no Euro Spec lenses...

Euro Spec Lenses tend to allow a brighter and longer beam pattern than US Spec Lenses. Made a world of difference on my Miata.

So what about the R1 Brake Ducts? Is this a dealer item? Anyone know the part numbers?

Maybe he means something like the Hella H4 housing for the square 6054 or what ever the hell they are called..

RX73rdgen 05-14-2003 01:08 PM

No, in europe they have different regulations about beam patterns and brightness so many manufacturers have headlight lenses for their European versions that have a superior and brighter beam pattern.

Hello does make SOME lenses. Not for the FD though. And you have to make sure you're getting Hella's EURO SPEC lense rather than US SPEC. Big difference.

the r1 ducks are a dealer item, fd03-43-64xe and fd03-43-63xe

just sit down before you ask how much

mike

75 Repu 05-14-2003 01:53 PM

Yeah but the FD uses a sealed beam headlight so you would just have to buy the headlights not the lenses.. and hella makes those lenses.. I think you can get them from Victoria british, but if you wanna make sure you get the european style Hella's try BMP Racing, since they sell BMW stuff, I have seen them in their catalog..

Negative, Ghost Rider. The FD uses composite light housings. Sealed beams are the 'replace the whole light' style.

thats a 10-4 good buddy.

75 Repu 05-14-2003 03:30 PM

me no have fd.. so i am lost on these smaller details..

RX73rdgen 05-14-2003 08:01 PM

Forget it... I think I'm just gonna slap some WRC Rally Car style light pods on the hood with four 9" HID Hella Driving Lights.

hehehe.

Sinful7 05-15-2003 09:26 AM

Yeah, there ya go. I was reading the 'SCCA Rally Guide' that came with my latest issue of SCC Mag. I decided I really like those light pods, I'm gonna mount some on every car in my family. I'm actually thinking of mounting some rear-facing so it's like daylight when I'm backing up real fast. No more hitting neighborhood kids for me!

Seriously, I bought some Hella 4" Round 'Angel Eyes' driving lights. Mounted them in place of the stockers. They're REALLY nice. Perfect for late night dark highways. They make the high beams look like flashlights. They're also nice as 'get out the way' lights. You know in mild traffic, when you get a lot of 'left-lane bandits'. These babies clear them to the right, like I'm a ******* god or something. My buddy has 5% tint on his truck, and he said that they were blinding, even through the tint.

Hey, the R1 front brakes ducts are $65.00 a piece through Mazdastuff.com (an online Texas Mazda Dealer). Is this the crazy price you guys talked about? It doesn't seem THAT bad for dealer parts. I went ahead and ordered them. They say there is only one more of the right side left in the nation and four more of the right.
