Hey...i am hoping to get some help here...ever sinced i plugged in my pfc my ac has not really been working...i just tested it for leaks and it held vacuum for over and hour...so i don't think thats the problem, and i just filled up the r-12 so i know its not low in refrigerant. is there something with the PFC that i need to do to make it work properly? Thanks Nick

rfreeman27 07-28-2003 09:42 PM

mine didnt work well when i put the PFC in. Oh well im just going to remove it anyways!

TURBOX2 07-28-2003 09:50 PM

yeah...i remember you saying that at the BBQ...I have been without mine for about a year now...just wish someone knew why... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png

I think its just a bug in the PFC. I could be wrong about that, but its what i have heard

apexkw 07-28-2003 10:27 PM

i've read that it could be a loose ground wire near the ecu. or maybe everyone looked over the obvious and forgot to turn the a/c on in the settings menu

I've heard it has something to do with the engine harness. The PFC doesn't like some of the older harnesses. People have replaced theirs and the A/C magically worked again.

reconnect the violet wire you cut on the harness during the install

it will fix it on older model cars

you don't need to cut any wires if you buy the PFC from SR. they pull the pins out of the ECU, so its the same as cutting the 4 wires.

All the other wiring on the harrness checks good? Could be something as simple as a bad ground. Good luck electrical problems are fun https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

apexkw 07-30-2003 02:07 PM

what if on my 93 touring i didnt cut a violet wire???? in fact nothing really looks violet..i did cut a black wire with a red/purpleish stripe though....anyways i guess what i am asking is the wire different on a 93?

FrestyleFC3S 07-30-2003 02:39 PM

just take out the AC ... i just did in my tII its great

TURBOX2 07-30-2003 07:57 PM

good question apexkw....mine is a 93 too...are the wires different, and since mine came form sr motorsports what can i do to attempt to fix the problem?

mr_ouija4201 07-31-2003 01:01 AM

I read you disconnect AC IN and AC OUT wires and connect them to one another. This way the ECU has no control over your AC. I haven't done it but my a/c doesn't work and that is the fix suggested over at rx7club.com

-=RX-7 KID=- 08-01-2003 03:25 AM

Mine didnt work either but i pulled my AC so it's all good. I pulled power steering too so my engine bay looks clean and easy it's easy to work on https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

My Car is a JSPEC R1 and I got my PFC from XS ..my Ac blows hot air most of the time and If I hammer on the car, it suddenly blows cold for a little while .. then once I go back to normal driving .. hot again ??!!??!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png

MazdaMike 08-01-2003 03:57 PM
