I am looking for a used set of twin turbos and I was on thepartstrader.com and a few people have a set. These were emailed to me and I cannot see any defects and I was wondering if some of you pros could look at em for me!

It looks like there is a crack or two. And not to mention looks can be deceiving. How much shaft play is there?

Why don't you just rebuild your's and if you have the money upgrade them at the same time.

I am having the motor rebuilt and am looking for a set of functional turbos to slap on while the motor is out. I am looking to sell the car though.

if it means anything im going single in about a month once i finalize which single i get and ill be selling my twins. they were brand new 6k miles ago, with NO problems who so ever. ill inspect em before i sell them to see if there are any problems i cant see.. the highest boost theyve seen is 15psi a COUPLE TIME ( blew pipes right after each time)

WORTHLESS Turbos. The crack in the second picture from port to port is BAD. I wouldnt buy those for FREE.



The other crack isnt terrible, but like most said looks can be deceiveing

By the looks of the picture, there's a crack in the front turbo exhaust housing next to the wastegate. If the crack is REAL bad, you could have a crack that follows all the way into the wastegate, which would prevent you from boosting extremely late.

Yeah thats what im saying. That crack looks pretty bad, it looks like a crack and some of the manifold has broken and some small pieces fell off. I had a customer a while back with the same problem and they told her she needed a new engine HAHAHA, I wouldnt say that but I would say you need a new set of turbos since you cant get just those parts from Mazda.
