Hey Lately I hear some weir noise from my tranny, I have been ingnor it but now it's really pissing me off. Anyway at first when start up the noise is very loud, when the car warm up the noise level drop. Also whenever I depress the clutch pedal the noise completely went away? So today I jack up the car {level it off with 4 jack stands} and I removed the filler plug and feel for oil, As soon as I removed the filler plug I hear air coming out from the hole, Then I deceide to put my finger inside to feel for oil and it does have oil in it, now according to mazda shop manual if there is weir noise check oil level or replace the oil? Now the oil level is fine and only 2 years ago I replace the oil with Red line MT 90 oil, I also replace the polit shaft bearing, throwing bearing. Also I had the car running and I went under to see or hear exactly where the noise is comeing from, I found that the noise is from theback half of the tranny{ where the drive shaft meet the tranny} right behind the drain plug? Does anyone have this problem with their tranny? and what step did your mechanic take to fix it? Also this tranny is from a 95 Rx7 with only 32.000 miles on it, I probabaly put another 5,000 miles on it so far.thanks alot, Khris https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

I posted a similar question to this on mine and got the useful reply "turn up your stereo". https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png So I did for a month or so then bought another gearbox as the rebuild kit was going to cost more. Boils down to main input shaft bearing wear which leads to noise. When you put the clutch in whilst stationary, the input shaft stops turning so noise goes away. Live with it or rebuild/replace. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif
