Alright guys..
Let see how many of you know your stuff. My passenger door lock used to work.. It used to unlock from drivers side locking mechanism and now, it does nothing. I do hear a solenoid clicking.. but nothing.. Door lock mechanism works fine and no resistance. I've checked all the fuses and wiring. All seems to be ok.. Anyone have a suggestion to check?? How about replacing the passenger side locking solenoid?? I have a spare passenger door that I could take out, but seems like its a pain in the ass to take out. Any comments, suggestions, or advice will be greatly appreciated it. PHIL |
so you hear a clicking from the passenger side when you actuate the drivers side unlock button? If so, it means (most likeyly) that the passenger side is either binding or the rod assembly has come unattached, i suppose it could mean that the acuator is weak also and doesn't have enough ass to move it........ remove the passenger side door panel and see if the rods move when you actuate the drivers side assembly. Let us know what you find ..

Initially, it moved the rod a little and sometime locked the doors. but now, nothing.. just a short clicking noise and thats it. I guess I'll try to replace the actuator assmebly. It just seems like a pain in the ass! |

I have not experienced it with my Mazdas, but replaced many a Saturn actuator solenoid for the same thing. Replacement would be what I'd be doing now. Regards, Mike |
Phil,
It sounds and looks like it would just be easier to put the whole spare passenger side door on and paint it the color of the FD that this has happened to, rather than mess with those actuators https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png |
Just take a hammer to it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

And its still not 100% match (more like 95%). |
