Ok... You should know my situation by now... I was on Lightning in a world of thunder... and did some reading on smoking.



In the list of choices for causes of bad smoking... He lists the OMP. If the OMP fails, it can pump WAY too much oil into the rotor housing... This is listed iin the troubleshooting BEFORE the oil seals in the engine..



Is there any way to test the damn OMP? I'd rather not remove it permanantly, but will replace it if necessary.



I've ruled out the turbos as being the cause of the oil in the combustion... And there are no bad lines.

yes, they can go bad. go the the "evil" forum and PM a guy named paw140......he is a hundred miles south of me here in MS and his went ou t a couple of months ago....he replaced it, but i think now, his motor ppopped, but no relation.



anyways.....ask hiim what his symptoms were.....if i am not mistaken, if the pump fails, you will get a CEL, did you get a code? if so, it might be the case, but i also know that the CEL on a MOP will cause the car to go into limp mode....

Just remove it, block it off, and premix 100:1 ratio when normal.. and 2:100 when racing =] bye bye prolem.. MAKE SURE TO PREMIX THOUGH!

Me either.... Never went in Limp, and never got a CEL either. Maybe I'll look over those turbos again... Goddammit. Well, I guess it's better them than the motor.

well, it could be a failing seal too. you know.....when the springs on an apex seal start to give out, smoking is somewhat charachteristic, because of the inability to keep the chambers seperated....

All I know is: It was oil. In large abounts. It was a fast drip, to an almost trickle coming from the exhaust manifold. LOTS of oil smoke from the exhaust...





If the seals in the turbos were bad... It would blow oil into the INTAKE (IE: Y-pipe, IC) track as well, right?



An oil seal in the engine would just be a bunch of oil getting burned in the chambers, and not blown in to the intake right?
