cmartinp28 if you do a search on your good ol search engine and type in "odometer repair", instead of stoping it, you can send the od in to get it fixed, like when someone has a busted od and buys a used one , but the used od is not the right mileage, there are place's which can fine tune the reading to where it was before, hope that help's man

teknics 02-24-2003 01:35 PM

odometer fraud in NJ is like a mandatory 5 or 10 year jail term... i believe. so i wouldnt really be posting this on the public forum, ya know, cause when you least expect it it could get brought back to you.

kevin.

BigTurbo74 02-24-2003 01:51 PM

wow that is some bullshit..haha but i guess that's cool kevin be knowin bout all the legal aspects.hehe https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

teknics 02-24-2003 02:42 PM

lol my friend bought a 12second eclipse off ebay and the guy rolled back the odometer, thats the only reason i know.

The guy had to give the money back to my friend (my friend keeps the car mind you) and is going to jail for a mandatory sentence of either 5 or 10 years i dont quite remember, plus charges of fraud over state lines and all kinds of ****.

kevin.

FikseRxSeven 02-24-2003 10:14 PM

Like in Fletch.

"I ask him are you doing stunt flying up there or something??"

anyhow- if you know the right locals they can repair your odometer being

as you had some mechanical problems and its reading incorrectly https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png Usually they charge about $400-$600.

You can send it out for about $250, but you have to remove the cluster to

do that, maybe you can get another cluster, have IT adjusted, then come that time of year install that one and the rest of the year use the other one.

If they want a pic emailed to them you can always adjust the mileage with a photoshop. By the way, SOME cars also register in the ECU or the ABS computer, but you wouldnt have to worry about that.

j9fd3s 03-20-2003 09:49 PM

the speedometers are only like $250 new

mike

FikseRxSeven 03-21-2003 10:10 AM

i was looking in the shop manual, and and looked at the wiring for the odometer........ that thing just way too confusing for me.....lol
