i did a motor swap with a jspec and conected all of the wires. i have brand new spark plugs and brand new wires. i have 2 sets of coils. a set that came with the jspec motor and a set that i pulled off from my old motor. i have the jspec in there right now but i have tried to start the car using both sets of coils. the engine will turn over and want to start except for the fact that there is not spark to ignite the gas going into the motor. i have checked the crank angle sensors and there are where the should be with the conections made from the wiring harness.

does anyone have any suggestions as to why i am not getting any spark?





PS. i know the ignitor could be part of the problem. i am looking for any and all suggestions.

what ecu? does the check engine light come on?

everything inside the car as far as the dash is concerned works properly. yes the check engine light comes on but doesn't the light come one in general when the engine is not started and you leave the key in the on possition so that way everything works and not just the stereo?

i dont know what part of the engine to check or where to begin anymore.

i am using my american wiring harness along with my american ecu. i have been told by many people including those that are rotary specialists that it would not cause an issue......is this right or wrong?

are your crank angle sensor connectors in the right location? The white one goes closest to the passenger side .

I once had a connector wire break off from the plug during installation. you can really see it after its installed.

the crank sensors are pluged in correctly with new sensors. when putting the car back together i had a loarge power surge that i do not have any more. could that have anything to do with my car not wanting to spark? if so where would i check and what would i check?

Are you sure everything is grounded properly?
