A new engine that i Just put in is smoking a lot. Even after running it for a long time. They car has no EGR stuff and i'm putting resisters in the right connections to get rid of the codes. But other then thak the car is running pretty well. I'm thinking Oil meter pump but i've never really had a problem with them going bad. And the few test i've done so far say it in good shape. But it getting extra oil to burn from some place. I've pressure checker the cooling system and its in good shape. Any advise anyone

Do you premix? How many miles does it have on it? I would say the OMP is fine. It would seem that if it's going bad, you'd get less oil..
|
what color is the smoke? What does it smell like? Are you positive it's oil smoke? Is the oil sump level going down significantly? How new is this motor? What about the turbos? Those can cause oil smoke too.
|
the smoke is a light colored bluish/gray which means oil. it doesn' smell like gas and it's not white like coolant smoke. the motor is BRAND NEW < 100 miles on it. the turbos are good. greddy profec-b controller. the oil level isn't going down at a fast rate, but it is decreasing. the oil pressure is down but that is probably just because it is old and doesn't read all that accurately.

don't rebuilts have stuff in them that makes em smoke right away?
|
My pineapple motor smoked hardcore for the first 45 minutes of idling, then on startup for at least the first 200 miles.
Once your motor warms up, does it still smoke? K |
i get a puff of smoke but i think it's just gas or premix https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

does it smoke more on startup after sitting overnight than any other time? leaking oil control rings will usually do that. You can try disabling the OMP temporarily and running some premix to see if the smoke goes away. |
how many miles on it ?

I'm thinking its not the turbo's becuase weather it be over night of a few minutes when i turn the car off i get a huge could of smoke when i start it. Its also takes a little work to get it started usually a 3-8 seconds of turning the ignition. so i'm think there is excess oil in the motor that it's burning off real quick at start up and oil is then countously being feed while running. i'll try the pre mix and the unplugging of the OMP And see what happens.
