i finally found a new engine (2000-spec). here it is. it has 4500 original miles on it.
another picture....
damn that thing looks like it was ripped off a show room car :yum:
cool, is it the 280hp one?
mike |
Noice..
looks nice and clean
Can I borrow that?
how much and where did you get that?
You don't need that, thats not the engine you want in your car (In my Best Alec Guiness imatation)
Holy **** that is clean!!!
That engine looks as if it as zero miles on it, so how much and where did you get it?..
i got it for $6500 with transmition, clutch, shifter, enfini y-pipe, y2k ecu, and maybe a few other things i'm forgetting. yes it is the 280 hp one. i can't believe i got so lucky. i got it from this guy farely mahabir or something like that. he used to work for pettit racing. he goes over to japan every once and a while and finds stuff like this.
sounds like a good deal
holy ****, how the ass you score that man, so shines
I wants one tooo |
great catch. jump on that deal if haven't already.
cool. yeah i know farley, and he is a straight up guy..
great find... louis |
Nice purchase. :bigok:
it was about time i had some good news about my car too. when cam at pettit saw my car's original engine, he told me it was in the worst he'd ever seen. when he saw this one though he said the opposite and that he wanted it himself.
nice find
Looks good man. :bigthumg:
So fresh and so clean..
not bad at all
in terms of the engine and the transmission......... what really is the difference between that and a low milage US rx7 engine?
not much is different at all except the turbos and ecu (255rwhp for us-spec and 280rwhp for j-spec). also, it's nearly impossible to find an american one with 4500 miles.
so i guess, if you buy the engine and tranny, there is no difference at all
pretty much
so i guess, the only difference is its nice and shiney....hehe
i guess so
hey!!! i wanna see.... post them again

did the engine come with the vacuum actuator/aparatus for the 280hp turbos? I've heard that mazda went to a new and simpler system, so if you plan on running sequential it might be necessary. Do you have any idea when the compressors get too far out of their effiency range, i've heard its around 14 psi for the '93-'95 turbos..
thanks, kyle |
i really don't know much about the "vacuum actuator/aparatus" but i do know these turbos do work sequentially as is, so i assume that if mazda ever did switch to a newer or simpler system, this engine should have it, since everything is from the same y2000 (or 2001, i forget) car.
i dont know about the efficiency ratings of the compressors either but i wouldnt push any twins past 15psi anyway.
wow, looks beautiful. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
all I heard was that mazda simplified the rats nest to a box with one vacuum hose going in and one coming out... w/e. btw, nice looking engine!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
thanks
